Protect your hardwood or tile floors with this beautiful Arga wool area rug. Made in the 1860s, this rug is a true antique that gives your decor an elegant and refined look that is perfect for traditional spaces. The historic Indian city of Agra, known for the Taj Mahal, has a rich history of carpet weaving. Their rugs are hand-knotted to offer the best in quality and craftsmanship that continues to stand the test of time. The process of rug making includes cleaning, washing and dyeing the wool, and then weaving the rug with vegetable-dyed wool. The material is free of latex guarding against allergic reactions. The color scheme used seemlessly fits to any classic decor while boldly standing out with its rich blue tones.

Herat Oriental works with over 2,000 village weavers to create beautiful, authentic, handmade rugs. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Persia and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come.
Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Variations in color, size, and design are the result of the handcrafted touch of artisan skill.
