Made in the 1850s, this unique pair is a true antique that gives your decor refined look that is perfect for traditional spaces. This is a rare find since handmade rugs are usually one of a kind, seldom one can find two of the same design. Senneh rugs are produced by village weavers in the Kurdish region of Iran. The Senneh name comes from the dialect of the Kurdish weavers of Sannandaj, where they use very tightly spun fine wool. These rugs are hand-knotted to offer the best in quality and craftsmanship that continues to stand the test of time. The neutral color scheme seamlessly fits into any classic decor, and the material is free of latex to guard against allergic reactions. The process of rug making includes cleaning, washing and dyeing the wool, and then weaving the rug with vegetable-dyed wool.

Herat Oriental works with over 2,000 village weavers to create beautiful, authentic, handmade rugs. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Persia and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come.

Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Variations in color, size, and design are the result of the handcrafted touch of artisan skill.
